How to obtain an investor number?
To begin trading on the QE, it is mandatory for a potential investor, whether an individual (local or foreign), a company or any other establishments, to get registered with the QE.
To obtain an investor number "NIN" (National Identification Number) from the QE, the following steps are to be followed:
a) Case of individuals:
- Filling out a new investor's application form to get a NIN number.
- Submission of the following documents along with the application form:
- A copy of a valid passport. - A copy of power of attorney (in case there is a need for one). - A copy of a court decision or a guardianship order (guardian). - A copy of birth certificate if buying/selling securities on behalf of minors (under 18).
b) Companies and other entities:
In Case of a local Company:
- Filling out a new investor's application form to get a NIN number ( Company's stamp on the Investor application form ).
- Submission of the following documents along with the application form:
- A copy of a valid commercial registration document showing the authorized persons including their signatures
-A letter addressed to QE specifying the authorized person/ entity to get a Nin. nunber on behalf of the company. - An original authorization signature letter issued by the company for the purpose of opening an account with QE.
In Case of a foreign Company:
- Filling out a new investor's application form to obtain a NIN number (Company stamp on the investor application form)
- Submission of the following documents along with the application form:
1. A letter addressed to Qatar Exchange requesting obtaining an Investor Number and to trade on the QE. 2. An original authorization signature letter specifying the names of the authorized signatory/ ies & the forms of their signatures 3. Copies of the valid passports for the Authorized Signatories 4. An original copy of the corporate valid commercial registration which should be authenticated by the Foreign Affairs Ministry & the Qatari Embassy at the home country of the company. 5. A Commercial license from the Corporate Control Department at the home country of the company which should be authenticated by the Foreign Affairs Ministry & the Qatari Embassy at the home country of the company. 6. Duly attested copy of the memorandum, article of association 7. Consent to open a portfolio at the QE issued from the Ministry of Economy & Trade which should be authenticated by the Foreign Affairs Ministry & the Qatari Embassy at the home country of the company.
NOTE: To obtain a new investor number, attend to the ground level of the Qatar Exchange building (clients'service counter). To obtain a new investor number, the client must pay QR 100

How to open a Trading Account at QSC?
The steps for opening an account at QSC are:
Individual Account:
Case of an Adult:
a) Obtain a NIN number from the QE b) Attend to one of QSC's branches or visit our website to open an account c) Fill out the Trading Account Opening Application Form- Individual and sign it. d) Submit the following documents along with the application:
- a copy of the valid identity card and / or passport (Local / Resident in Qatar)
- a copy of the valid passport (Non-resident)
Send all the documents to one of the following:
- Submit all the documents by hand at QSC Main Branch.
- via Courier to QSC at the following Address:

e) To begin trading :
- In case of buying listed shares, transfer or deposit sum of money in cash or as cheque, equivalent to/or more than the value of the purchased shares, to QSC's account at the Commercial Bank of Qatar. Mention your investor number in case of transfer or deposit. It is crucial to deliver by hand your transfer or deposit receipt.
- In case of selling listed shares, if you already own shares at the QE central registry, you need to request to transfer these shares to QSC. Securities Transfer Request Form
Case of a Minor:
a) Obtain a NIN number from the QE
b) Attend to one of QSC's branches or visit our website to open an account c) Fill out the Trading Account Opening Application Form- Individual and sign it. d) Submit the following documents along with the application:
- a copy of the guardian's valid identity card and/or valid passport
- a copy of the minor's birth certificate
Send all the documents to one of the following:
- Submit all the documents by hand at QSC Main Branch.
- via Courier to QSC at the following Address:

If the Account Holder delegates someone (Representative) to trade on his behalf: a) Obtain a NIN number from the QE
b) Attend to one of QSC's branches or visit our website to open an account c) Fill out the Trading Account Opening Application Form- Individual and sign it. d) Submit the following documents along with the application:
- a copy of the account holder's valid identity card and/or valid passport
- a copy of the Representative's valid identity card and/or valid passport
- valid Power of Attorney
Send all the documents to one of the following:
- Submit all the documents by hand at QSC Main Branch.
- via Courier to QSC at the following Address:

Note: if the Account Holder is not a resident in Qatar and wants to delegate someone inside Qatar to trade on her/his behalf, then the power of attorney given to the Representative must be authenticated from the foreign ministry and Qatari Embassy in the account holder's homeland.
Case of Company Account:
a) Obtain a NIN number from the QE
b) Attend to one of QSC's branches or visit our website to open an account c) Fill out the Trading Account Opening Application Form - Company and sign it. d) Submit the following documents along with the application:
- Copy of the authorized signatory/ies valid identity cards or Valid Passports.
- A copy of the representative's valid identity card or valid passport.
- A copy of the company's valid commercial registration
- An original authorization signature letter issued from the company specifying the authorized signatories names and forms of their signatures.
- An original Delegation letter issued from the corporate specifying the representative's name and the areas of delegation
- Valid Power of attorney ( if there's any)
Send all the documents to the following:
- Submit all the documents by hand at QSC Main Branch.

How to subscribe on Online Trading?
To subscribe on online trading, follow these steps:
a) Obtain a NIN number from the QE
b) Fill out the Trading Account Opening Application Form- Individuals/ Account Opening Application Form- Companies and sign it. c) Sign a separate form for QOTS Account Opening Form
Send all the documents to the following:

How to collect my cash Bonus? If a listed corporate announces their cash bonus, the client who is entitled for cash dividends will receive his cheque issued by the intended corporate to his direct P.O. Box as registered in the documents at the QE.

How to collect my Bonus Shares? If a listed corporate declares at the QE the allotment of Bonus shares, these Bonus shares will be directly added to the client's account at QSC by the QE. |

How to trade on the Egyptian Stock Exchange through QSC?
QSC have tied up with the Egyptian Exchange through an exclusive agreement with Ahli Bank of Egypt. Hence, QSC offers you to be your executor in Egypt as well as Qatar.
